Waiting for the sun
I've grown tired of the darkness
The day's begun.
Watching as shadows
Pass from the sky
Leaving me with a wonder
So long denied.
As the moon in the morning sky
Reflects the light so soon to rise
A song comes unbidden to my heart
To take the darkness from my eyes.
Moving through seasons.
Passing through time.
As the heart calls the measure
So falls the rhyme.
Strangers in motion
We pass through the day.
Just when did our intentions
Go astray?
Silent threads of uncertainty
Have spun their webs around my mind
But with the dawn comes a chance for me
To leave my empty world behind.
